Hampshire and Isle of Wight Air Ambulance (HIOWAA) are starting the "Give Life Not Socks" campaign that calls on people in the community to donate money to the charity.
The charity are suggesting that people do not buy novelty socks for their loved ones this Christmas, but instead help keep the Air Ambulance flying and saving lives.
Last December, HIOWAA responded to 140 call-outs in December, including four on Christmas Day.
The campaign will be launched in the form of a short film on Monday, 18th November, 2019.
HIOWAA Director of Fundraising, Rachel Leaman said:
"We don't stop for Christmas or New Year. For our teams and doctors, paramedics, pilots and dispatch assistants it will be 'business as usual' over the holiday period.
"We depend upon your donations, and by giving the gift of life this Christmas you are allowing us to be there for our community, should the worst happen."
HIOWAA receives no government funding and relies on the public to keep their service operational.
