Sherborne's MP has welcomed changes by Boots to remove large queues outside their store.
Chris Loder was unhappy they had a maximum of two people in store at a time
He said: ‘Boots policy of allowing only two people into its stores at any one time was causing excessive queuing, sometimes for 30 minutes or even longer outside its shops.
"And during rain and poor weather that would just not be acceptable.
"Local pharmacies were being swamped as a result because they were much more efficient with customer visits.
"Boots has reviewed its arrangements at the MP’s request and now allows 5 people in the store at any time, a resounding success for local customers, especially vulnerable people which will considerably reduce the queuing time for customers."
A Boots spokesperson said: "We would like to thank Chris for working with us to understand the issues community pharmacy is facing at the moment.
"We had a particular problem with enforcing social distancing guidelines in this store. Boots has provided all stores with more sign posting and floor stickers to help with this.
"These extra measures are working well which means more people can wait in this store at any one time.
"We’d like to thank all our customers for their patience and the lovely messages of support they are giving our teams."
