18-year-old man dies in M4 crash

Wiltshire Police were called to the scene at around 1:30am.

A man has died at the age of 18 in a crash on the M4.

He was driving a BMW westbound earlier this morning, when it collided with the central reservation barriers between Membury Services and Junction 15 Marlborough Road.

A 19-year-old female passenger was taken to the Great Western Hospital in Swindon with minor injuries.

The man's family has been notified.

Wiltshire Police were called to the collision at around 1:30am (07/04) and the motorway was closed between Junction 15 and 14 in both directions for several hours, whilst officers carried out their investigations.

The Force have issued a witness appeal for anyone with any information to come forward.

Sgt Lucy Fair from the  Collision Investigation Unit said:

"If you were in the area at the time and saw or heard what happened, please get in touch.

"Equally, if you were passing by and possibly have dashboard camera footage of the vehicle prior to the collision, please contact us."

They are asking anyone who can assist the police with their enquiries to contact the Collision Investigation Unit on 101 and quote log number 13 of 7 April 2020.
