Special constable 'won't work in law enforcement again'

Avon and Somerset Police say a former special constable would have been dismissed if they hadn't resigned.

It's after they disclosed private images and a video to a third person with intent to cause distress.

The person is now banned from working in law enforcement again.

The chief constable chaired the meeting  which was held at force HQ in private.

Following the hearing Superintendent Richard Corrigan said: "This former officer committed a serious offence amounting to a gross breach of someone else’s privacy.

"Their actions are directly opposed to the values we expect of all our officers and staff.

"They resigned prior to the special case hearing but they’ll now be placed on the National College of Policing’s Barred List preventing them from working within policing and certain law enforcement bodies."
