Police in Sherborne say a cafe was broken into in the early hours of yesterday.

It happened at the Pear Tree Deli and Cafe on Half Moon Street at around 2.30am.

It is believed he was carrying a large 'bag for life' with 'black side panels and red end panels with a white emblem on it'.

Police Constable Shane Hewitt, of Sherborne police, said: "We continue to make local enquiries, including speaking to residents and businesses to see if anyone saw or heard anything suspicious or who might have relevant CCTV available.

"I am appealing to anyone who may have witnessed the incident, or who has any information that could assist with the investigation, to please come forward.

"Anyone with information is asked to contact Dorset Police at www.dorset.police.uk, via email 101@dorset.pnn.police.uk or by calling 101, quoting occurrence number 55190006501."
