Two arrests after Brixham stabbing

Two people have been arrested after an attempted murder in Brixham.

The man, aged in his 40s, sustained a serious knife wound - described as life-threatening.

He was airlifted by air ambulance to Derriford Hospital in Plymouth, where he remains in a critical condition.

A 48-year-old man and a 34-year-old woman from Brixham have since been arrested and remain in police custody at this time.

Detective Chief Inspector Ian Reid said: "Earlier this morning, officers in Torquay arrested two people in connection to this matter and they remain in police custody to be questioned in due course. 

"A vehicle has also been seized by officers.

"At this time, this is being treated as an isolated incident where all parties are believed to be known to each other. 

"We are not looking for anyone else in connection with this matter.

"I would encourage anyone with relevant information and anyone who was near The Quay in Brixham on Friday evening, to get in touch with police.

"Anyone who witnessed the incident or has information is asked to contact police via 101@dc.police.uk or call 101, quoting log number 763 of 14/06/19."
