Three injured after Rathmore Road crash

Emergency services have been at the scene after being called just after 3.30am

Investigations continue following a serious accident on Torquay's Rathmore Road just after 3.30am

The road, from the seafront to the back of the rugby club and train station, remained shut this morning for investigations.

Emergency services say three people were injured and the accident involved a single vehicle.

A spokesman for Devon & Cornwall force said: "Emergency services are in attendance at the scene where three people are injured. 

"One man has sustained minor injuries, two other men have sustained serious and possibly life-threatening injuries.

"Localised road closures are currently in place, and the road is expected to remain closed this morning. 

"Please avoid using this road and choose an alternative route if possible.

"Anyone who witnessed the incident or has any information is asked to contact police on 101@dc.police.uk or call 101 quoting log 90 11/10/18."
