A seal in Brixham has been pictured with its head trapped in a blue plastic bag.
The animal struggled for about 10 to 15 minutes before freeing itself
It's led to a debate about plastic waste and rubbish, with the post being shared thousands of times.
The town has a colony of around 20 seals which live in and around the marina.
A spokesperson for Tor Bay Harbour Authority and Beaches posted: "This photo has been sent in by Martyn Cannan who took a snap of this little fella yesterday at Brixham Marina, by the lifeboat...thankfully the seal managed to extricate itself from the bag.
"This really illustrates the risk of littering and the need for cleaner coasts.
