Police threaten civil injunctions after anti-social concerns

Parents in Torbay are being asked if they know where their children are - and what they're up to.

It follows a number of anti social behaviour incidents in places like Paignton.

A force spokesperson said: "Reports are mainly centred around anti-social behaviour, intimidation, violence and verbal aggression towards the public and shop staff.

"Police resources have increased due to this type of activities which has a knock-on affect with us dealing with other reported incidents/crimes.

"Several youths have already been issued with a section 35 dispersal order.

"A section 35 is a dispersal order where when issued the receiving person will have to leave a designated area for up to 48 hours.

"This would be at the officer’s discretion for how long that would be.

"If youths do not change their behaviour the police and partner agencies will be taking further action via civil injunctions.

"Paignton Neighbourhood team are reluctant to potentially impact the future of your children so please take some time to speak to them about their actions."
