More Industrial Action On South Western Railway

The RMT Union's confirmed further industrial action on South Western Railway services.

Members will be refusing to work any rest days between Friday the 16th and Monday the 19th of February.

It's in the long-running dispute on whether guards should be maintained on SWR services.

RMT General Secretary Mick Cash said, "It is frankly disgraceful that South Western Railway point-blank refuse to engage with the union in meaningful talks over their plans to run trains without a safety-critical guard on board across this franchise.

"It is time for the company to get out of the bunker and start talking."

South Western Railway has called the action 'completely unnecessary'.
