"The Queen let the cat out of the bag" jokes kind-hearted woman behind secret 'thank you' signs

One of many thank you signs by Rae Rae Green

A Somerset woman, who was secretly putting out 'thank you' signs to key workers, has seen her work recognised in a Tweet by the Royal Family.

Rae Rae Green, from Cotford St Luke near Taunton, joked "The Queen let the cat out of the bag" as she came forward to reveal it was her putting out the signs on a roundabout to say a public thank you.

She says some people, on their daily walks, would go past the sign  - which was always in the same place -  to see who it was thanking that day.

One farmer was even brought to tears with the message.

The resident, who already did lots of work of community, said: "Over the last couple of months I have created and maintained a big anonymous board in our village thanking key people from the residents.

"I'd scurry down with my hood up after dark, drag it back to mine and change who the board was thanking and then pop it back on the roundabout.

"People have said the board has made them smile. To me that's the most important thing."
