The RFT is celebrating 50 years of independent cinema in the town with three free screenings across the year, plus plans for an exhibition and a film giving the history of the charity.
The film theatre is based on the main campus at the University of Reading and its open to everyone with free parking in the evenings.
The charity is proud of their top quality digital projection, huge screen and state-of-the art Dolby surround sound, and they use a 300 seat auditorium located in the Palmer building, which they hire from the University of Reading each week.
The RFT say they are a 'quiet' cinema because they don't allow noisy food and drink to be consumed during their screenings.
Their Spring season has started with several of the Oscar-nominated films due to be shown including Joker (Thurs 23 Jan), and Little Women (Thurs 13 Feb). They'll be marking International Women’s Day on Thurs 5 Mar with the film Bombshell.
