Hampshire and Berkshire reacts to 'devastating' fire at Notre Dame in Paris

Emergency services, public figures and cathderals across our region have been showing their support to the French overnight.

World leaders are offering France their condolences and help to rebuild Notre Dame Cathedral. 

Theresa May says her thoughts are with the people of the country, as they assess the damage caused by an enormous fire. 

The French President has vowed to reconstruct the medieval building after emergency services managed to save part of it. 

One of the richest men in France is donating 100m Euros - or £86m - to Notre Dame's reconstruction. 

François-Henri Pinault, who's married to the actress Salma Hayek, says he wants to "revive the jewel of our heritage", and see the cathedral completely rebuilt. 

He's the chairman and CEO of the Kering group, which owns fashion labels including Gucci and Yves Saint Laurent.

Paris firefighters have confirmed the blaze at Notre Dame Cathedral is fully extinguished.
