Chief Constable urges people to follow virus advice

John Campbell admitted: "The outbreak of coronavirus is something that is having a fundamental impact on all of our lives with sometimes tragic consequences".

The Chief Constable of Thames Valley Police has urged people to follow the Government's 'stay indoors' coronavirus advice - and warned of new police powers if they don't.

In a new video released today, John Campbell says the message is: "Stay at home, protect yourself, protect your loved ones and those around you, and feel confident that Thames Valley Police will continue to protect you".

However, he has warned that officers will use new police powers if people refuse to adopt the Government's instructions, to try and safeguard everyone.
