Investigations into serious collisions in North Hampshire underway

Police in North Hampshire are appealing for witnesses, as they investigate two separate serious collisions in the area.

Early yesterday morning (Monday 14th January) a 27-year-old motorcyclist from Basingstoke died at the scene of a crash on the A30 in Old Basing.

The incident, which involved a white Skoda Superb and a red Yamaha motorcycle, took place at the junction with Ashmoor Lane.

The driver of the Skoda, a 56 year old man from Basingstoke, was arrested and later released under investigation.

Police are asking anyone who witnessed the incident, or who may have any dash cam footage, to call 101 - quoting Operation Bowl.

Meanwhile, in a separate incident, a woman in her 50s was left with serious injuries after she was involved in a collision with a car in Basingstoke.

The woman was cycling along Jays Close when the crash happened, but the vehicle and its driver left the scene before emergency services arrived.

Anyone with information on what happened is asked to contact police on 101, quoting 44190016246.
