Thousands raised for woman seriously injured at carnival

Source: Aiyesha Nirvana GoFundMe

A fundraising campaign for a woman seriously injured after becoming trapped under a carnival float in Somerset has raised over £2,000.

The woman, who hasn't been named, was flown to hospital with potentially life-threatening injuries at the end of the procession in Chard on Saturday night.
The GoFundMe page initially wanted to raise £1,000 for her family but that target has doubled in just three days.
Aiyesha Nirvana, who set up the petition, wrote on the website: "The lady this happened to, is the most loving thoughtful caring lady anyone would ever come across.
"She is an incredible grandmother to my son, and an amazing mother to all of her kids.
"I won't mention too much about what is currently going on, because I think the entire family deserve a bit of respect and privacy.
"I've set this page up, to try and help keep the family going, any hospital costs, and anything else which will help.
"Thankyou everyone for your wishes and thoughts."
