"No excuse or justification for this disgusting behaviour" after player suffers racist online abuse

Why? That was the simple response from a Bristol City player after he received racist online abuse after missing a penalty in yesterday's defeat to Swansea.

The 27-year-old posted a screenshot on his Twitter page and his club also retweeted the post adding: "We stand with Famara Diédhiou and anybody who has to suffer racism in any shape or form.

"There is no excuse or justification for this disgusting behaviour."

The club also added another tweet showing their players taking the knee ahead of their defeat at Swansea in support of their top goalscorer.
