Police pulled over a vehicle doing 117 miles an hour yesterday on the M5.
The Avon and Somerset force say the vehicle was spotted by an unmarked police car.
It follows warnings of speeds rising on many roads across the region, while traffic levels have fallen.
Are you aware that any officer from the Roads Policing unit can prosecute and convict at court, using opinion alone on the motorway. No equipment required! Leave alone being caught at 117MPH today, using an unmarked car on the M5, with plenty of equipment!— ASPolice Road Safety (RPU) (@ASPRoadSafety) May 5, 2020
