A man from Torquay heads into this weekend's finals of the Offshore Circuit Racing competition in third place in the championship.
Nick Newsam, and his brother, are among 20 entrants in the competition - which boasts various classes and could see speeds of up to 70mph.
On Saturday and Sunday, the pits will be open from midday onwards - where onlookers can see the boats and talk to the crews ahead of the afternoon's races.
The course is roughly three miles across Torbay and there will be live commentary on the sea wall on Beacon Quay, with race control based in Living Coasts.
The first round of the competition was held in Torquay in May.
