Murder investigation launched after man dies following A303 collision in Wiltshire

Police investigating the death of a man on the A303 near Amesbury in Wiltshire have launched a murder investigation.

Officers say the 63 year old died in hospital early this morning (Sunday 23rd June).

It's after he was involved in a collision with a car on the eastbound carriageway near Solstice Park, at around 4.50pm on Friday 21st June.

The vehicle involved failed to stop at the scene.

A 23 year old man from Watford's been arrested on suspicion of murder.

He's currently in custody at a police station in Swindon.

Det Supt Julie Mackay from Wiltshire Police, who is leading the investigation, said: 

"We would like to speak anyone who may have seen this collision on Friday.  

"This is a very busy road and I believe there would have been a number of drivers and road users who would have seen this incident. 

"Also, if you have any dash-cam footage of this please come forward."
