It’s been confirmed a ‘Ride of Respect’ for PC Andrew Harper will be held on Sunday 27th October

Thousands of bikers are expected to take part in the ride from RAF Benson near Reading to Abingdon Airfield.

The organisers have spent time trying to organise the event to honour PC Harper, who was killed while responding to a burglary near Sulhamstead in Berkshire in August.

Exact timings for the event on the 27th October have yet to be confirmed, but it's hoped the first pod of bikers will set off at 12pm that day.

PC Harper’s funeral is due to take place at Christ Church Cathedral in Oxford on Monday 14th October.

Police say a procession route will be in place in the city to allow members of the public to pay their respects, but the service itself will be private.

A number of roads in the city will be closed.
