Investigations launched into major crashes on M4 and A34

Two serious accidents have been causing major problems on roads in Berkshire and Hampshire this morning.

Police have confirmed a person has died following a collision on the M4 westbound between junction 5 for Langley and 6 for Slough and Windsor

A closure was in place for a number of hours, but the road has since reopened.

Police say the person who died has yet to be identified and work is ongoing to do so and notify next of kin.

Anybody who witnessed the collision is asked to call Thames Valley Police on 101, quoting URN 91 (19/11).

Meanwhile there also delays on the A34 northbound near Winchester, after a lorry and a person were involved in a separate collision there.

The road's shut between the Kingsworthy junction and Three Maids Hill as emergency services work at the scene.

Anyone with information on what happened on the A34 is asked to call Hampshire Police on 101, quoting reference number 79 of November 19 or Operation Permit.
