An emu has been making headlines in one part of the Thames Valley over the weekend.
The bird was spotted running around on roads in South Oxfordshire yesterday (Sunday 13th January).
The emu was seen firstly in Peppard Common and later on in fields and on roads in Sonning Common.
Police were called to try and help find the bird, which ended up causing problems for traffic and pedestrians on local roads.
In a tweet, officers likened the incident to a scene in the famous film Hot Fuzz.
Our own take on #HotFuzz! This fella on the loose causing a few road issues in Sonning Common, when we approached him he gave it the legs! "Offender" outstanding, last seen across the fields! @tvpsouthandvale #billybigsteps #TRbshift #PS7138 pic.twitter.com/jgxzxFMPpX— TVP Roads Policing (@tvprp) January 13, 2019
