Two dogs have died after they were struck and badly injured on the M4 westbound in Berkshire.
Police have confirmed they both were unable to survive the injuries they suffered between junctions 13 and 14 yesterday (Sunday 13th January).
A rolling road block was put in place at the time as emergency services dealt with the incident.
Officers say the dogs' owner has been informed.
They've published more details about what happened in a post on social media.
Update from yesterday. We were called to 2 dogs loose on the M4 between J13-14. Sadly both dogs were struck and unable to survive their injuries. We took them to the local vet who identified the owner from the microchips and the owner has been informed. Very sad :-( #PS7138— TVP Roads Policing (@tvprp) January 14, 2019
