Walk Together for People with Cancer

Leading cancer support charity, Penny Brohn UK, is calling on friends and families to sign up for its annual sponsored walk, Stomp, on Saturday 12 October.

The six-mile sponsored walk is the perfect way to make happy memories with friends and family whilst raising money to support people with cancer. The flat, off-road walk starts at Anchor Square on the Bristol harbour-side and follows the towpath along the Avon Gorge to Penny Brohn UK’s National Centre in Pill. It will culminate with the Stomp Autumn Fayre where there will be stalls, refreshments and entertainment. The fayre is open to the public as well as walkers taking part in Stomp.

The charity’s holistic approach recognises that people affected by cancer need more than medicine to live well.  It provides a powerful combination of physical, emotional, and psychological support that is designed to help anyone affected by cancer and at any stage.

Exploring areas like healthy eating, physical activity, emotions and managing stress through free retreats, one-to-one complementary therapies, and group activities that work alongside standard medical treatment helping people to make small but sustainable changes to improve their health and wellbeing.

Penny Brohn UK relies on fundraising to keep its services free and is asking participants to pledge to raise £100 in sponsorship. Registration is £12 for adults and £7 for children under 14. Dogs go free! All Stompers will receive a fundraising pack including a t-shirt and sponsor forms. All under 16s must be accompanied by an adult.

Sign up today at pennybrohn.org.uk/stomp19
