Torbay Airshow is happening this weekend with breathtaking air displays over the stunning South Devon bay.
Join The Breeze for day two of The Torbay Airshow live from Paignton Green, offering free entertainment for all the family. The Bay provides a stunning natural amphitheatre for viewing the airshow, providing a perfect location for a large coastal airshow. The event is free to attend, with parking available to purchase in advance.
The 2019 Airshow will feature the incredible RAF Red Arrows, RAF Typhoon Display Team, Battle of Britain Memorial Flight and for the first time this year, RAF Tucano T1. The full line-up of flying displays will be announced soon.
The Breeze will broadcast live from the Torbay Airshow over the weekend, to bring you the action as it happens and keep you up to date with the latest entertainment, flying displays and traffic and travel in the area.
As well as the entertainment in the skies over the bay, Paignton Green will host an event village where visitors can expect to find exhibition stands, bars, food stalls, experiential activities, kids areas and more.
Recognising the airshow’s importance in positioning Torbay as a tourist destination and its impact on the local economy, the local business community are supporting the 2019 event. Torbay Airshow is supported by headline sponsor, Newcross Healthcare, English Riviera BID, Torbay Development Agency and Torbay Council. Additionally, Cavanna Homes, South Devon College, Speedwell Honda, BGS Landscapes & Fencing, KJ Lack Funeral Services, Interline, Bay’s Brewery and Dominos Pizza have all signed up as official partners of the event.
Travelling Torbay Airshow: Everything you need to know
With a week to go until the 2019 Torbay Airshow, organisers have released details and top tips on how to plan your visit to the event as well as the road closures that will be in place over the weekend.
The free event takes place on Saturday 1 and Sunday 2 June and this year will host the world’s premier aerobatic team the RAF Red Arrows first display of the season as well as performances by the Battle of Britain Memorial Flight, Typhoon and Tucano T1. Organisers have now also announced that the Black Cats, Chinook, Strikemaster, Tigers Freefall Parachute Display Team, The Blades, Corinne Dennis in her Pitts Special and the Fireflies Aerobatic Display Team will all take to the skies as part of the event’s awe-inspiring flying programme.
The action-packed flying programme will take place over two full afternoons on Saturday from 2pm until 5.30pm and Sunday from 11.30am – 3pm alongside ground displays, entertainment, trade stands, fair rides, bars and catering within the event village on Paignton Green.
Those planning to attend the event are encouraged to make their plans in advance and local residents are advised to familiarise themselves with the temporary road closures and parking restrictions that will be in place for the show in order to ensure that emergency vehicles can still access all areas and to minimise disruption for residents caused by visitors to the event.
The closest stop to the Airshow Event Village is Paignton and which is served by Great Western Railway lead travel partner for the Airshow and Cross Country Trains.
Paignton Train Station is just a six-minute walk away from the airshow event village. GWR will be providing extra capacity over the weekend, whilst the steam railway will run their usual timetable to and from Kingswear. Entry to the Torbay Airshow is free, but to guarantee a parking space we would strongly advise pre-booking your parking in advance of the event. Car parking can be booked through the website www.torbayairshow.com for £8 per car plus a transaction fee. The Park and Ride service at Splashdown Quaywest will be available throughout the airshow weekend with prices ranging from £1.50 to £10.00.
There will be an additional capacity on the bus services in and out of Paignton across the event weekend. Details of all the local bus services operators can be accessed via www.torbay.gov.uk/roads/travel/bus.
Signed cycle parking will be located adjacent to Paignton Green.

Roads surrounding the Bay will be closed during the event on Saturday 1 June from 11am and 7pm and on Sunday 2 June between 10am and 7pm. These roads will be clearly advertised as road closures however residents and business owners will have access to these areas throughout the duration of the event, with the exception of Preston Sands Promenade, Eastern Esplanade, Esplanade Road, Torbay Road B3201 and Station Lane, which will be accessible for emergency vehicles only. Vehicle passes have been issued to those affected.
There will be a number of specific on-street parking suspensions which will be advertised and enforced within these road closures, please ensure you check any on-street notices
In addition, the one-way systems in operation on the following roads will be suspended so two-way traffic will be allowed during the road closure period.

All air displays are subject to change depending on weather conditions and operational commitments that could take the military displays elsewhere at short notice.
