Molly Dundas – Sadly, when she was 11 years old, Molly's Dad passed away after a year long battle with cancer. Her Mum also has cancer and has been fighting it for 12 years now. Because of the huge effects cancer has had on her life, Molly has taken part in the Race for Life (first one was run with her sister two days after their Dad’s funeral). Molly and her siblings, together with friends and family, completed a walk across Dartmoor to raise funds for Force Cancer Support centre in Exeter. Molly was part of the musical theatre group at Teign School and they were performing in a production at the end of term. Molly asked if the donations could be for The Force, raising even more money. She has had to grow up very quickly taking on far more responsibilities than an average 14 year old. However, despite all the difficulties in her family life, Molly continues to be extremely cheerful – always with a smile on her face and ready to help anyone that needs it. She is lovely girl with a big heart.
Tom has been a part of the children's week youth committee for a number of years. Children's Week is a week of free fun and entertainment for the family on Paignton Green during August. It's put on by a team of volunteers and Tom works tirelessly as a volunteer to make the event happen. He puts on entertainment for the children including quizzes, installs all the railings and barriers, controls vehicle movement and anything else that's asked of him. Without young people like Tom the event wouldn't be able to continue, he's an inspiration to people his age.
