The winner of the Sports Star of the Year Award is Ellie Kildunne

Ellie KildunneEllie has been selected for the full England team for women’s rugby. She made her debut against Canada at the end of 2017 scoring in all three internationals. She has played in both 6 Nations games against Italy and Wales and scored in both games. She has scored in every international she has played, 7 tries in 5 games. All of this whilst still completing her A Levels at Hartpury College at 18 years of age. Ellie’s commitment to the sport and to Hartpury College is so impressive and she would be deserving of this Local Heroes award.

Our runner-up is Michelle Jones

Michelle JonesMichelle runs a local running club "Cheltenham Running Ladies" the club is open to ladies of all ages and abilities.  Michelle goes above and beyond to encourage everyone that joins to do their best no matter how fast or slow you are. It's not just about running it's about friendship and support.  No-one is left behind. She is always so enthusiastic kind and caring. She goes out of her way for everyone. As a group, we do so much more than just run and that's thanks to Michelle.  She makes you feel the sky is the limit and celebrates everyone's successes no matter how big or small. Personally, I have achieved more than I thought possible and that's down to the club's support!
