Karshare

Bristol-based company Karshare are launching an initiative to help mobilise essential services and charities like Age UK Bristol during this time of lockdown.

They are aiming to create a fleet of 500 cars on loan from members of the community – for charity workers, food bank volunteers, health workers and care workers to use absolutely free of charge, to help them reach people who are in isolation but still need these services.

Local people are asked to donate their unused car for a week after which it will be returned with a full tank of petrol.

As the NHS is now asking for volunteers to deliver medicines and other essential items, this initiative can really help mobilise those volunteers taking part in Bristol.
