Headway Place in Basingstoke is a local Day Centre providing long term, slow stream rehabilitation for people who have sustained a brain injury.
Over the last 31 years, since its inception, Headway Basingstoke has helped hundreds of people with brain injuries, and their families, to try and rebuild their lives after injury. Some have been able to return to work in some form, or return to further education, whilst others continue to attend Headway Place and learn new skills, make new friendships and attain a level of independence that they could only hope for in those traumatic days and months immediately post injury. The voluntary Trustees and superb staff spend many hours ensuring that the charity meets its objectives and delivers the best possible service to Headway’s clients. You can find us at: http://www.headwaybasingstoke.org.uk
Until now Headway Basingstoke has been staffed by the local NHS service provider and this is to cease in March 2014. Supported by the North Hampshire Clinical Commissioning Group Headway’s Trustees are taking on the responsibility to continue delivery of the services and we are currently in the process of transition and transferring the staff across to Headway Basingstoke. In addition we are now recruiting a Manager to take on the responsibilities of Managing the future service delivery to its clients from across North Hampshire. We are seeking candidates with a health background whether as a clinician/allied health professional or manager.
This is an exciting new role for this charity which is developing its services in co-ordination with the local Clinical Commissioning Group’s future needs to provide exemplary post-operative rehabilitation and re-enablement services to those adults who have suffered brain injury.
Headway Place in Basingstoke is affiliated to Headway UK, the brain injury charity and is one of 50+ similar affiliated organisations across the country. http://www.headway.org.uk
