George (aged 10), who lives in Bartley Heath, near Hook, and goes to Hook Junior school, is doing a charity swim on the 18th February at 10 am at Basingstoke Aquadrome. George willl be attempting to swim 100 lengths of the 25m pool, 2,500 metres!
This swim will be in memory of his grandad who died last month, who he and his brother Charlie called "Poppa". The swim is also to thank St Michael's Hospice in Basingstoke who looked after their Poppa - Michael Arslantas, during his last few days whilst suffering from pancreatic cancer.
If anyone wants to contribute to George's challenge they can donate through his JustGiving page, www.JustGiving.com/GeorgeDillow
George is hoping to raise £1000 (£10 per length!) from his challenge for St Michael's Hospice.
