Basingstoke NeighbourCare actively promotes better health and well-being by reducing isolation and loneliness for vulnerable adults living in the Basingstoke area. Clients using our driving service can look forward to companionship while attending medical or other appointments and encouragement to engage in social or leisure activities.
For the housebound we offer a befriending service where company and a chat can really make a difference. We will try and help out with all sorts of requests.
Some of our more regular tasks include:
Taking you shopping.
Visits - helping you visit someone in hospital or at a nursing home.
Appointments - taking you to your medical appointments.
Social – taking you to lunch or other clubs
Helpline 01256 423855 to tell us about the type of assistance you require. Our Helpline is open Monday to Friday between 9 am and 4 pm with an answerphone service outside of these hours.
We always have room for more volunteers who can spare a few hours during the daytime, either to provide transport or to drink tea. Also we currently have an opportunity for anyone who feels they could be a Trustee.
