Amnesty International's called for the immediate release of the wife of a Fleet man being held in Iran.

Nazanin Zaghari Ratcliffe - who has dual UK/Iranian nationality - was jailed for five years over allegations she was plotting to overthrow the Iranian government.

She was arrested at Tehran airport in September last year as she was returning to the UK with her young daughter from a visit to relatives in Iran.

Earlier this week, husband Richard Ratcliffe revealed the Revolutionary Guard had opened a new case against her which could add sixteen years to her sentence.

Amnesty's held a protest in Parliament Square this morning, to coincide with a parliamentary debate on human rights in Iran.

Protestors, including Mr Ratcliffe, took part in a mass reading of family memories for Nazanin, and Kamal Foroughi - another UK/Iranian dual national.
