South West coronavirus total remains at 38

There's now 38 active cases of coronavirus in the South West, with very little change from yesterday in most parts of our region.

That's according to the latest figures, which show there's still just two active cases in Somerset, Swindon and Bristol, with three in Wiltshire and none in Dorset, North Somerset or South Gloucestershire.

In America, a cruise ship carrying a couple from Bridgwater has now docked in California.

It's hoped the British people on board will now be flown home.

In Italy there's a ban on all social gatherings, schools are remaining shut and cafes and bars will close at dusk.

The county's 60-million people have been told they should only travel for work or emergencies - to help contain the outbreak.

The country registered 18-hundred new cases of Covid-19 yesterday - and more than 460 people have now died.

Official NHS guidance will now start being displayed at the top of internet searches.

The health service is working with Google, Twitter and Facebook to promote "good advice" when people look for answers.

It's also asking social media platforms to verify accounts linked to the NHS.
