Pupils perform a musical tribute to much-loved headmistress

A Year 9 pupil at Bruton school for girls has led a musical tribute to the outgoing headmistress to mark her last term at the school.

The piece by Rubi was released to coincide with National Thank a Teacher day, and involved other pupils at the school joining in.

A spokesperson for the school said: "We are delighted to share this special video of our incredibly talented students and staff.

"Each performer recorded their section at home during lockdown. The singing is led by Rubi C in Senior 3 and the arrangement was masterminded by Matt Dury, our Director of Music.

"The piece is dedicated to Nicky Botterill to mark her last term as Headmistress.

"We hope it offers a moment of calm during this prolonged period of isolation. While we adapt to what will be a 'new normal' we are grateful for the strong family that is the BSG community."
