Crane operator's song raises £1k for NHS before being released

More than £1,000 has been raised by a Bristol docks worker to keep up co-workers' spirits during the lockdown and raise money for the NHS.

Spencer Flay will officially release the single this week in aid of Southmead Hospital Charity (NHS Bristol North) and the NHS Charities Together.

The money raised so far has come from a live stream performance by Spencer which has raised a total of £1,153.25 - doubling the initial target he'd set himself.

It was funded by The Bristol Port Co, where Spencer operates the cranes. He jokes his crane 'doubles as a songwriting space'.
