Representatives from carnivals across the South West will today discuss how events can be more environmentally friendly in the future.
Most carts are towed by HGV engines or tractors, with LED lights and moving parts powered by diesel generators.
The conference, by Carnival Network South, will take place at the Malcolm X Centre in Bristol today and tomorrow.
It is aimed at carnival artists, producers, organisers and parade managers.
