A public consultation's underway to decide the future of the post office on Andover High Street.
The post office is looking to relocate the branch inside the nearby WHSmith store, as part of efforts across the country to cut costs.
However, that news has been met by anger from local residents, who feel the service won't be as strong as it has been in the past.
On the post office's website, it's listed details of its proposals:
"We are proposing to move Andover Post Office into WHSmith, 31 High Street, Andover, SP10 1LJ where it would be run by WHSmith High Street Ltd.
"This move is part of the continuing modernisation of our branch network.
"We believe the most effective way to secure the long term viability of Post Office services in Andover is through a carefully selected retail partner, and we are confident that our proposal is the best way of safeguarding services for the community for years to come.
"The vast majority of our 11,500 Post Office branches, large and small, are successfully operated in this way with retail partners and we believe this is the best approach to keeping Post Offices in main shopping locations and at the heart of communities where they play an important role in local economies."
