Residents and businesses across Hampshire are being encouraged to do their bit to improve recycling rates in the area.
Hampshire County Council says it is continuing to monitor markets with a view to expanding the range of recyclable materials in the future
Councillor Rob Humby - who's in charge of environmental matters - says the problem is not enough plastics can be recycled:
"We need direction from the government to work with the industry to reduce the number of polymers that are produced, so we can extend the range of plastics that are collected.
"But, you've got to have a market for it."
Councillor Humby believes it's down to all of us to make recycling work:
"I think a lot of people think they're recycling, but then they end up putting one wrong thing in a bin and that contaminates it all.
"So as I say, everyone's got to play their part in making this work."
